Happy Deepavali!

Hey everyone! Yesterday was Deepavali so I thought I'd share my outfit with you. For anyone wondering Deepavali (or Diwali) is a Hindu festival. This year was pretty special considering it's the first year I'm wearing a saree. Granted it's a half-saree set  that everyone is just so dead keen on reminding me about but nevertheless it still is one! And just so you know, I absolutely loved it! I think the colour and design and everything is just gorgeous. We bought the material in India and had it sewn here. The top is a halter neck with a bareback and then the bottom half is just a regular long fitted skirt. It's basically a two piece outfit with that scarfed wrapped around it to give an illusion of a saree. I could wear it without the scarf if I wanted to. Two days before, my friend and I caught the LRT to KL Sentral and managed to find our way to Little India to get henna done on our hands. It was pretty nerve-wracking since we were using public transport by ourselves and the fact that we were clueless about that part of the city. A little help from google maps and some walking later we made it! It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be and it didn't take that much time to walk either. Basically, we were really proud of our efforts. I got a manicure done as well in a really pretty deep purple. My friend helped pick it out and I absolutely love it because it compliments the yellow tones in my saree perfectly. Not to mention it goes well with the henna too. I got the design for the henna online and then the lady who did it also added her own twist. We didn't have too big of a celebration this year for Deepvali. Just invited family and friends over for lunch and dinner, it was day well spent with them.

Update #7

Wow, it's been quite a while hasn't it. According to blogger, my last post was in November last year. I honestly didn't plan to take such a lengthy break. I haven't kept up with any of the blogs I followed much less my own, this year has been pretty exhausting and not my best. Form 4 is a whole new ordeal with new subjects, new schedules and obviously a lot less leisure time. Right now, we've just finished my finals and I'm feeling relief that the school year is almost over but also little sad because that means I've spent a whole year away from blogging  Anyways, I thought I'd give my neglected blog some love cause I'll be frank, I've missed this a lot. What better to start off my return then to examine the little changes in my life since I was last on here. Well, let's start off with studies. I can honestly say at this moment that I adore Biology. It is such a strange thing to admit because last year I was pretty nervous for this particular subject. I mean when I heard about seniors as well as my own sister dropping it after a year, I was pretty hesitant to to include it in my studies. But, in the end, I decided what the hell and just took it. No regrets. Out of all three science subjects I'm taking, Bio has my back. Physics is more or less fine and I absolutely despise Chemistry but Bio has a special place in my heart. I can only hope that spot is there to stay *finger's crossed*. A new year means a brand new series to get totally and utterly hooked on. And 2014 has introduced me to a new toe-curling series known as Reign. The trials and tribulations faced by Mary, Queen of Scotts. Gosh, I love that title....Queen of Scotts, has a nice ring to it don't cha think?  I guess that living the royal life is a long, long way from fairytale. Even if they are all princes and princesses. Totally recommend it, makes me want to start Game of Thrones just so I can add more Kings and Queens into the mix. Now let's talk about bands, this year I kinda found my way back to The Script. I loved them when I was younger but after a while I just kinda strayed away. Moved on to newer things y'know? Hope isn't to be lost as I have found my way back! I forgot how beautiful and relatable their lyrics are, some songs are just so on point. The Script is such a fitting name for them if I'm being completely honest. Lastly, a pretty obvious change is i got a haircut. It's pretty short. Like a little past my shoulder. I was pretty nervous of it at first but I'm getting used to it. It took a while to realise that change isn't all that bad. (The picture above was taken on my birthday, before I got the haircut a couple weeks ago, in case you were wondering).
